So good to have met Philip, to have spent such happy times with him and his children. We had the opportunity to see him at home loving his time with his daughters and son and the grandchildren. Our thoughts are with Christina, Netta, Louisa and Mark, their spouses and children. Ingrid, you too are thought of with fondness and love. All our love, Haydn, Susan Luke and Matt from South Africa.

I had the privilege to meet JPS a couple of years ago in Buenos Aires when he came with his wife Susse .Eventhough it wasn´t a bussines trip , he wanted to visit our local headquarters . I remember that incredible Saturday when probably "The Man of our Industry " , asked and listened to me attentively and with sincere interest.
Beyond many things that of course I could say about that occasion , his tremendous sensibility and simplicity were a great lesson and encouragement for me.
Susse , "The Poncho" you fancied in Argentina is yours to collect as a token of my respects to you.

JPS and I went to school together in Denmark in the fifties.
Later, in the eighties, he employed me in Group 4 for six years, and when we parted company, he sold me the department I'd been managing on very favourable terms.
He just loved my pictures of him playing the trombone in the school jazz band. I only have good memories . . . and a lot of admiration for this dynamic, fun-loving person.

So many different lengths of time by Brian Patten
How long does a man live after all?
A thousand days or only one?
One week or a few centuries?
How long does a man spend living or dying
and what do we mean when we say gone forever?
Adrift in such preoccupations, we seek clarification.
We can go to the philosophers
but they will weary of our questions.
We can go to the priests and rabbis
but they might be busy with administrations
.
So, how long does a man live after all?
And how much does he live while he lives?
We fret and ask so many questions -
then when it comes to us
the answer is so simple after all
.
A man lives for as long as we carry him inside us,
for as long as we carry the harvest of his dreams,
for as long as we ourselves live,
holding memories in common, a man lives.
His lover will carry his man's scent, his touch:
his children will carry the weight of his love.
One friend will carry his arguments,
another will hum his favourite tunes,
another will still share his terrors.
And the days will pass with baffled faces,
then the weeks, then the months,
then there will be a day when no question is asked,
and the knots of grief will loosen in the stomach
and the puffed faces will calm.
And on that day he will not have ceased
but will have ceased to be separated by death.
How long does a man live after all?
A man lives so many different lengths of time.

Knights, their Ladies and a King, lay on tombs, heads resting on swans, at their feet, small dogs. Philip lies in frozen ground in a country churchyard in Northern Denmark.
Worcester Cathedral’s tall and soaring columns dwarfed the congregation. No flowers. Lent. But the beauty of the building needed no extra ornament.
Security men from the world’s largest security firm lined the approaches and the naves. Philip’s men.
The tale was told of how, in the beginning, he recruited one man: By day they sold security. By night they were the security…
His three daughters read. Slight figures in the vast cathedral, voices strong. His son gave the address. The choir sang Fauré’s In Paradisum. Haunting and poignant. Between hymns tributes were made.
As the last trumpet notes of Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World faded away 700 people stood in silence, holding the moment.
Jorgen Philip-Sorensen felt very present.

Philip was a truly remarkable person.
I learnt to know him late in his life when he acquired our family chalet in Switzerland. It subsequently turned out that my offices in London were literally a stones throw away from Philips. We soon agreed that we both understood what prime location meant!
Doing business with Philip was certainly not an ordinary event. He liked to deal with people directly and did not want to rush things. The questions regarding the sale of the property soon became a secondary matter. Philip was extremely generous, not least with his most precious commodity, time. He was a great listener and remarkably humble in light of what he had achieved.
When Philip listened, it was with full involvement, genuine warmth and interest. Philip and I also shared the sometimes negative consequences of growing up in an entrepreneurial family.
I was very saddened to learn about Philips passing. I have never met a person for such a relatively short period of time and yet felt so connected.
“What a wonderful world” Philip help humanity create, god bless his sole and may he rest in peace.

Roger & Josette Champess were pleased to have the opportunity to
attend Philip's Memorial Service. We remember his warmth and generosity and Josette particularly cherishes her memory of flying
in his personal jet for 2 days accompanied by two other French girls!
A man for all seasons, who will be missed by so many.

I attended the Memorial Service yesterday on behalfi of the Rotray Club of Cheltenham North and Rotary District 1100. I felt it was a most appropriate tribute to the remarkable life of a remarkable man.
JPS was a member of Cheltenham North Rotary Club in its early years, and when his business committments meant that he could not meet the attendance requirements,he continued his interest and association by becoming an Honory Member.
In this capacity his support was invaluable in that he would host fund raising events at his Broadway home raising money for Save the Children. He also gave very generous support to the Rotary District 1100 conferences in plymouth in 1993,and for my own conference in Bournemouth on 2000,the year I had the honour to be District Governor.
He had an interest and appreciation of the benefits of a worldwide nongovernmantal organisation such as Rotary International and the work of Rotary Foundation. Here at Cheltenham North we feel proud and honoured to have played a very small part in the life of this very special human being.

I only met Mr. Jorgen-Philip Sorensen a few times, but these few times were enough to be touched by a warm businessman, always looking straight forward in your eyes. Something rare in this society of today.

Dear family members of Jorgen Philip-Sorensen
I am writing this letter to express deep sorrow for Jorgen Philip-Sorensen loss.
I knew Jorgen Philip-Sorensen, for a very long time and shall always remember him. He was the most intelligent in security industry that I ever knew. I feel that Jorgen Philip-Sorensen loss is a loss to all the people who knew him in this world.
Civilization is a place where men rise and fall like the winter wheat. The dawn brings new rays every day yet there are some people who rise every day and bring to life, cherished memories, teachings and faith that help us sail the journey of life.
May God bless his soul and complete all his wishes.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and we are sharing the burden of this great grief. May God bless you and Jorgen Philip-Sorensen.
May God blessJorgen Philip-Sorensen's soul.

Yesterday I knew the sad new through the G4S International magazine.
I was Surveillance General Director of Group 4 Spain since 1991 until its takeover three years later. It was a great pleasure to participate with him in different meetings and events, specially in the Boards of Directors we had in which, within the rigor level by he demanded, I always found his support and understanding.
Despite my short stay at Group 4 Spain, 3 years out of 20 years working in the private security business, I can affirm they were the happiest of my professional career due to the great working atmosphere in the Group, and this atmosphere emanated directly from him.
I am sure, "Mr. Sorensen", wherever you are, you are living life to the full as you used to do.
My best regards
Pepe Escolar
